A Longboat Rowing race will take place on Saturday 26th August 2023 from west side of South Hook LNG Small Boat Passage to Gelliswick Bay.
1. MARINERS ARE HEREBY ADVISED that, a Longboat Rowing race will take place on Saturday 26th August 2023.
2. The race will start in on the West side of the South Hook LNG Small Boat Passage and will transit past Montreal Rock, Behar, Dakotian, Angle and Thorne Rock Cardinal marks, through Thorne Sound then transit south of the channel passing Chapel, East Angle, cross the channel to Cunjic and finish in Gelliswick Bay (approximate position 51° 28’.6”N, 05° 03’.34.5” W). It is anticipated there will be a maximum of 20 participating vessels.
3. The racing is expected to begin at approximately 12:00hrs and all competitors are expected to finish the races by 14:30hrs.
4. Participating vessels will keep clear of any commercial shipping in the navigable channels. Safety boats will accompany the race and will monitor VHF Ch 12.
5. Mariners are requested to navigate with caution and pass at slow speed in the vicinity of these craft.
6. This Notice to Mariners will self-cancel at 2359 hrs on 26th August 2023.
