Benson Viscometers Ltd has established operations at Pembroke Port, becoming the second large-scale tenant to join the landmark development. A British company specialising in the design, development and manufacture of high-quality clinical viscometers, the team has taken occupation of six units within Catalina House, including four offices and two warehouse spaces.
The move represents a significant investment in the area and further reinforces Catalina House's growing reputation as a premier business location within Pembroke Port. By bringing its expertise in medical technology to the site, Benson Viscometers adds to the diverse mix of innovative businesses choosing Pembrokeshire as a base for growth and development.
Catalina House sits alongside the historic Western Sunderland Hangar within Pembroke Port and offers modern, flexible accommodation for a broad range of organisations. Originally designed to support businesses operating within the marine energy, offshore wind and low-carbon sectors, the facility has also proven highly attractive to professional services, engineering companies, legal practices and ambitious SMEs seeking high-quality workspace in a strategic location.
Sharon Jenkins, Commercial Property Executive at the Port of Milford Haven, commented "We are delighted to welcome Benson Viscometers Ltd to Catalina House. Pembroke Port continues to demonstrate its role as a catalyst for business growth, investment and innovation across the region. Developments such as Catalina House are helping create new opportunities for businesses while supporting economic growth and skilled employment in West Wales.
The name Catalina House draws inspiration from Pembroke Dock's rich aviation heritage. During the Second World War, the American-built PBY Catalina flying boat played a vital role in patrol, anti-submarine and search-and-rescue missions across the Atlantic. The name was selected through a public naming competition led by the Port, honouring the area's proud past while reflecting its transition towards a low-carbon and innovation-focused future.
The Hangar Annexes development, which includes Catalina House, forms part of the Swansea Bay City Deal-backed Pembroke Dock Marine project. The project is funded by the UK Government, the Welsh Government and public and private sector partners. It is also part funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government.
