Oil Spill Response water and shore-based boom deployment training exercises will be taking place on the Milford Haven Waterway from the 21st through 24th November 2023.
- MARINERS ARE HEREBY ADVISED that, Oil Spill Response water boom deployment training exercises will be taking place on and around the Milford Haven Waterway on 21st and 22nd, and possibly 23rd November 2023.
- On 21st and 22nd November the Oil Pollution Recovery Craft Sea Sweep and/or Williams workboats will be underway at various times over these days. Booms will be deployed and recovered most likely in an area off Gelliswick Bay and Puma Jetties but may be in the vicinity of Carr Jetty, Wear Spit, Pennar Beacon and the Outfall Buoy, however the Sea Sweep may also be undertaking training above the Cleddau Bridge at locations off the Warrior Site or Lawrenny.
- Mariners are required to navigate with caution when in the training area, pass at minimum safe speed and give a wide berth when possible.
- Latest information on the location of the Sea Sweep may be obtained from Milford Haven VTS: VHF Ch12, Tel. 01646696136/7, Email: VTS@mhpa.co.uk.
- Admiralty charts 3274, 3275, and Imray Y26 & 2600 ATLAS refer.
- Additional shore-based training, possibly with the Sea Sweep or other craft in attendance, will be taking place at Sandy Haven and Gelliswick Beaches probably on 21st, 22nd and 23rd of November.
- This notice will self cancel at 23:59 on Friday 24th November 2023.
