Lost fishing nets pose a hazard to navigation for Haven users, specifically for large vessels by becoming entangled in bowthrusters and, for small craft, fouling both propellers and rudders.

  1. Following a number of incidents that have occurred in the Haven, fishermen are reminded of the hazard to navigation that lost fishing nets pose to Haven users, specifically for large vessels by becoming entangled in bowthrusters and, for small craft, fouling both propellers and rudders.
  2. Fishermen are urged to report immediately any loss of nets whilst operating within the Haven immediately to Milford Haven VTS.
  3. Mariners are reminded of the need to exercise vigilance when navigating in any part of the Haven and promptly report any hazards to navigation to Milford Haven VTS.
  4. Milford Haven VTS operates on a 24 hour basis and may be contacted by any of the following means:
