The Port of Milford Haven has continued its commitment to youth development across Pembrokeshire, renewing its Gold Associate Supporter sponsorship of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) programme during its landmark 70th anniversary year.

The Port has supported the DofE since 2021, with the programme supporting 375 young people in 2025 and 2026 across nine local schools: Milford Haven School, Ysgol Harri Tudur, Haverfordwest High, Ysgol Greenhill School, Portfield School, Redhill School, Ysgol Bro Preseli, Ysgol Caer Elen and Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi.
Through this partnership, more young people will be able to take part in volunteering, physical activity, skills development, and expedition experiences - while additional funding will help reach marginalised groups.

The DofE programme is recognised nationally for equipping 14-24-year-olds with the confidence, resilience, and skills needed to thrive in adulthood. By investing at Gold level, the Port of Milford Haven is helping ensure that more young people in the community can build essential life skills and uncover new talents - supporting a skilled, more confident local workforce for the future.
