Milford Waterfront is preparing for a magical festive season, with events and experiences for all ages. Home to a wide selection of independent shops and eateries throughout the year, in the lead up to Christmas there’ll be a festive market and family-friendly activities for everyone to enjoy.
Starting with an indoor Christmas Market in the Link Building from 21st to 23rd November, visitors can find handcrafted local gifts and treats, then enjoy festive dining and browse the businesses and eateries around the Waterfront.
Families in search of Santa need not look any further than Milford Waterfront, where Father Christmas will arrive by RNLI Lifeboat on 6th December, before he heads to Milford Haven Town Hall later in the day for the town’s Christmas Lights switch-on.
This event, Santa by the Sea, will include musical and walkabout entertainment, facepainting, family activities, and Pure West Radio. The event runs 12 – 3pm, with Santa arriving at the marina in the early afternoon. The Milford Haven Town Council Christmas Lights event will start at 4pm.
For craft-orientated little ones aged 3-12 years, there are artist-led, print-your-own Christmas card sessions at the Waterfront Gallery. Sessions take place on 22nd, 29th and 30th November, and are free of charge, but must be booked through the gallery on 07949 763100.
There’ll be an indoor Ice-Skating rink at Sybil House (beside Phoenix Bowl) from 12th – 14th December, where people of all ages can enjoy skating on the synthetic ice rink from midday until 8pm. This family-friendly activity offers all the fun of skating without the chill.
On select dates in December (7th, 13th, 14th, 19th, 20th & 21st), families can experience the enchantment of Christmas at the Link Building, with Pure West Radio’s Purely Magical Christmas Grotto. Tickets must be booked in advance, and price includes meeting Santa and the elves, professional photography, chocolate gifts and more.
Thanks to the popular annual Christmas Lights competition run by Milford Waterfront, Milford Marina and Visit Milford Haven, anyone visiting in December can enjoy creative shopfronts, balcony displays, and beautifully adorned boats. Bringing joy and sparkle to the town every year, the competition helps Milford Waterfront glow with Christmas magic.
Lucy Wonnacott, Head of Communications and Marketing at Port of Milford Haven said:
“Every year the berth holder community, Milford Waterfront businesses and residents all get involved in making the whole place sparkle, so we encourage people to come and see their efforts and enjoy the lights, soak up the festive cheer, and visit the amazing businesses around Milford Waterfront.
“We’re delighted to host so many activities this festive season to support the independent business community here. There will definitely be something for everyone, and new to Milford Waterfront this year, the indoor Ice Rink at Sybil House will be very special – we’re looking forward to seeing everyone getting their skates on.”
With so much going on at Milford Waterfront this Christmas, it’s the perfect place to eat, shop, and enjoy the season. Visitors can make a weekend of it, with rooms available at the Ty Hotel Milford Waterfront, overlooking the sparkling marina.
