Incident involving fishing vessel

1700 28 Jan 2013
The Port of Milford Haven has responded to an incident in which a man was injured after falling overboard at sea this afternoon.
The Port has supported the Maritime and Coastguard Agency in the rescue which happened at Turbot Bank, at the mouth of the Haven at approximately 15.40.
An RNLI crew treated the man aboard the Belgian fishing boat, the Vidar, as the conditions were too rough to transfer him ashore.
The fisherman has now been transferred from the boat by helicopter, to Withybush Hospital, after the boat was able to make its way to Milford Shelf, by Milford Dock.
The Port continues to operate normally.
