Survey Vessel Jif Marlin, Undertaking Tow Survey Work off West and East Channels 28-31 May.

  1. MARINERS ARE HEREBY ADVISED that, between 28th and 31st May 2023, the survey vessel “JIF MARLIN”, a 27m LOA Multicat, will be undertaking a Pre-Cable Lay Grapple Run (PLGR) as part of the Greenlink project of laying an electricity interconnector between South-East of Ireland and Freshwater West Bay, Pembrokeshire.
  2. To allow the offshore cable installation and burial in a later stage, a pre-lay grapnel run (PLGR) will be performed along the planned interconnector route to ensure clearance of any debris that may hinder the main cable burial. Between 28th and 31st May, for the duration of approx. 12hrs, this will take place along the route approx. 2nm South of St Ann’s Head (See Chart).
  3. Prior to entering Port Limits, JIF MARLIN will co-ordinate with Milford Haven VTS in order to avoid confliction with Commercial Traffic bound for the West Channel.
  4. Whilst within 10nm of St Ann’s Head, JIF MARLIN to remain in contact with Milford Haven VTS.
  5. JIF MARLIN whilst operating will show the appropriate shapes and lights as per the regulations, all vessels are requested to keep 100m distance from the vessel.

  7. This notice will self-cancel at 2359hrs on 31st May 2023.
