Notice to Mariners

Llangwm Longboats are organising and running a long distance rowing marathon on the Milford Haven Waterway.

 1.      MARINERS ARE HEREBY ADVISED that, a Longboat Rowing race will take place on Saturday 13^th June 2026.

2.      The race will begin at Dale Beach (approximate position 51˚ 42’29.7” North, 05˚ 10’06.7” West) and conclude at Haverfordwest (approximate position 51˚ 47’58.7” North, 04˚ 57’56.7” West) It is anticipated there will be a maximum of 30 participating vessels.

3.      After leaving Dale, the participating boats will remain North of the main channel, transit through South Hook and Impala small boat passages and across Milford Shelf before crossing the main channel to the 5A Buoy, then remain south past the Port of Pembroke and through the Cleddau Bridge and continue upriver to Haverfordwest.

4.      Participating vessels that have not passed Black Tar (approximate position 51˚ 44’53.0” North, 04˚ 53’58.4” West) by 17:00 will retire at this point.

5.      The race is expected to begin at approximately 14:30hrs and all competitors are expected to finish the race by 18:00 hrs.

6.      Participating vessels will keep clear of any commercial shipping in the navigable channels.  Safety boats will accompany the race and will monitor VHF Ch12. 

7.      Mariners are required to navigate with caution and pass at slow speed in the vicinity of these craft.

9.   This notice will self-cancel at 23:59 on Saturday 13^th June 2026.
