On Tuesday 17th March between 08:00 and 17:00, Trinity House will be undertaking testing of planned upgrade works to their fog signal located at St Ann’s Head Lighthouse.
- MARINERS ARE HEREBY ADVISED that, Trinity House will be carrying out a short trial of a new “hazard warning system” (fog signal) as part of their planning to upgrade their Fog Signal Aid at St. Ann’s Head Lighthouse.
- Trinity House will be undertaking the trial between 08:00 and 17:00 on 17th March. During this time the tone and character of the signal will be temporarily changed to blast for three seconds every 60 seconds, but the range will remain as previously.
- Upon completion of the trial, the signals character and tone will revert to its original character of two blasts every 60 seconds.
- The trial will be weather dependent and will only be conducted if the visibility in the area is good.
- This notice will self-cancel at 23:59 on 17th March 2026.
