Notice to Mariners No.057 of 2022 - Longoar Bay Visitor Moorings

1. MARINERS ARE HEREBY ADVISED that, the Longoar Bay visitor moorings (approximate positions 51º42’.723N 005º06.809W and 51º42’.728N 005º06.804W) are considered to be unserviceable and are not to be used by any vessel.

2. Annual inspection and servicing of the mooring and associated ground tackle have been delayed. As such the condition and integrity of the mooring cannot be guaranteed.

3. The moorings are provided as part of a voluntary no anchoring agreement to help protect the seagrass bed. Users are requested to be considerate of the potential damage anchoring in the area can cause whilst the moorings are out of use.

5. A Notice to Mariners will be issued when the moorings have been inspected and reinstated for use.
