Port of Milford Haven

Retail, Leisure & Tourism

Pembrokeshire is a perfect destination. Its world-class beaches, National Park and a magnificent waterway make it a sought after holiday spot. Increasing awareness of its beauty, the popularity of staycations, and the removal of the Severn Bridge toll are all expected to herald a dramatic uplift in visitor numbers to the country. And, with a doorstep ferry service to Ireland, an easy link with Irish shoppers and holidaymakers is efficiently established.

A particular opportunity exists in Milford Haven, a busy town with an enviable history, an attractive marina on the dramatic Milford Haven Waterway and exciting developments ahead, all signal an ambition to enhance the visitor economy for the town.

Milford Waterfront

Even though there are plans to redevelop the area further, Milford Waterfront is already a vibrant visitor destination that attracts over 100,000 visitors each year. With good road links from across the county, free parking, free WiFi and over 50 independent businesses overlooking Milford Marina, it really is a great place to eat, shop and enjoy. Visitors can try ten pin bowling at Phoenix Bowl & Pirate Pete’s Adventure Play, learn more about our historic haven at Milford Haven Museum, take a boat trip with Discover Coast and Cleddau, or choose to visit one of the 15 eateries on site. The Milford Waterfront Tourism Team ensure that there is always something going on to entertain visitors and the local community, working with key partners to organise and host a full events programme through the year. Events in 2019 include Milford Fish Festival, Milford Haven Beer Festival, Milfood Haven Street Food Festival and the extremely popular Milford Haven Round Table Fireworks Display which attracted 10,000 visitors in 2018.

Havens Head Retail park

The Port acquired Havens Head Retail Park in 2017. The site is adjacent to Milford Waterfront. It comprises approximately 83,000 sq ft space alongside the town’s train station occupied by a mix of long-term tenants including Tesco, Boots, Card Factory, Home Bargains, Iceland Food Warehouse and Peacocks. These are larger units which have great appeal for larger, national businesses.

Discover Coast & Cleddau Boat Trips

Discover Coast & Cleddau Boat Trips run Wildlife Boat Trips daily at 11am between April and September, departing the Mackerel Stage at Milford Waterfront. The stunning Pembrokeshire Coast has an abundance of wildlife, so you could spot puffins, dolphins, manx shearwaters on a voyage around Skomer, or seals, mallards and shelducks on a cruise up river to Lawrenny. Family friendly fishing trips are also on offer, and private charter of Discovery is also available.

Floatel Cabins

The latest additions to Milford Waterfront are the Floatel Cabins. Manufactured to our exact specification in Amsterdam, these ‘floating hotel rooms’ allow 2 adults to sleep on the water in comfort, with high quality interior design, en suite shower rooms, tea and coffee making facilities and private balconies. One of the Cabins has been designed to be easy access, and our dog friendly cabin is also suitable for four-legged guests
