Charitable Cause of the Year
In 2014, the Port introduced a scheme in which its staff could vote for a Pembrokeshire charity or community organisation to become its official Charitable Cause of the Year. The chosen organisation typically receives both financial and in-kind support from the Port, for example donations, fundraising activities and staff volunteers.
The following organisations have been the Port's Charitable Cause of the Year:
2019 - Alzheimer's Society Cymru
The Alzheimer’s Society campaigns for change, funds research to find a cure, and supports people living with dementia. In Pembrokeshire, the Alzheimer’s Society has a Dementia Connect service which provides practical advice and information for anyone affected by dementia. Furthermore, a Side by Side service is available in Milford Haven to match people with dementia with dedicated volunteers, enabling them to keep doing the things they love.
2018 - Mind Pembrokeshire
The mental health charity is based in Haverfordwest where it operates counselling, befriending and carers services, as well as providing supported housing accommodation.
2017 - Paul Sartori Foundation
The Paul Sartori Foundation was formed in the 1980s and offers specialised, supportive care and advice for those in the later stages of any life-limiting illness.
2016 - Pembrokeshire Cancer Support
The charity was established in 1991 and provides support and information for those who have or have had cancer, together with their family and friends.

Greenacres is a non profit animal rescue centre based in Talbenny, near Haverfordwest.
