NOTICE TO MARINERS

NO. 45 OF 2010

MESSAGE MARKERS

Mariners are hereby advised that as from 10th May 2010 in accordance with IALA V103 training, Milford Haven Port Control will use Standard Marine Communication Phrases (SMCP) message markers when in communication with vessels transiting within harbour limits.

There are eight such message marker as defined below:

Question; Answer; Request; Intention; Instruction; Information; Advice; Warning.

Mariners are reminded that other SMCP will be used by Port Control when necessary
