Notice to Mariners No. 42 of 2010 - HAZARDS TO NAVIGATION

1. Following a number of incidents that have occurred in the Haven, fishermen are reminded of the hazard to navigation that lost fishing nets pose to Haven users, specifically for large vessels by becoming entangled in bowthrusters and, for small craft, fouling both propellers and rudders.

2. Fishermen are urged to immediately report any loss of nets whilst operating within the Haven immediately to Port Control.

3. Mariners are reminded of the need to exercise vigilance when navigating in any part of the Haven and promptly report any hazards to navigation to Port Control.

4. Port Control operates on a 24 hour basis and may be contacted by any of the following means:
