Milford Haven Port Authority further supports the communities in which it operates by using its position, expertise and facilities to support or take the lead in partnerships.

Voyage of a Lifetime Scheme
Experience sailing, experience team work; experience the unforgettable, experience of a lifetime...
The Voyage of a Lifetime scheme was launched in 2008 as part of the Port Authority's 50th Anniversary celebrations. The scheme aims to give the people of Pembrokeshire the chance of a lifetime to take a voyage in a magnificent sailing ship.
Havenlink Waterbus
Milford Haven Port Authority has been instrumental in commissioning pilots for the Havenlink water transport service which first ran in 2008, and was expanded for 2009. Along with support from the project's partner organisations; Pembrokeshire Greenways, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority (PCNPA), Pembrokeshire Local Action Network Enterprise Development (PLANED) and the South West Wales Tourism Partnership, MHPA remain supportive of projects that increase waterway accessibility and usage.

Milford Haven Port Authority's Haven Regatta Series is hosted at four Yacht Clubs along the Haven Waterway, the event is sponsored by MHPA through its Community Programme and administered by Pembrokeshire Cruiser Racing Club.
Waterway Schools Project - MHPA & Darwin Centre

Milford Haven Port Authority has, in partnership with the Darwin Centre, developed a programme of exciting field events and workshops, enabling several local schools to investigate and celebrate the waterway.
Milford Haven Port Authority launched a Scholarship Scheme for Undergraduates and Postgraduates in 2003. Up to January 2010, the Authority has financially assisted and encouraged thirty two undergraduate and five postgraduate students in their pursuit of higher education qualifications.
Seafair Haven (opens a new window)
Continuing its commitment to the celebration of the Haven Waterway, the Authority hosted the second Seafair Haven in 2008 and third in 2010. The event attracted 160 traditional vessels with over 500 crew to the waterway who explored various communities, from Dale to Lawrenny, who became Host Ports for the week. Also, a number of public events were planned to celebrate the maritime heritage of the area.

Torch Theatre (opens a new window)
As part of its 50th Anniversary celebrations in 2008, the Authority developed a new 5 year partnership with the Torch Theatre through sponsorship of its new studio theatre. The Community Team continues to work closely with the Torch to develop new community arts projects and raise its profile.

Pembrokeshire Fish Week (opens a new window)
Pembrokeshire Fish Week is a celebration of the county's magnificent seafood, coastline and waterways. The festival attracts approximately 11,500 visitors to the opening day, held on Milford Docks. Visitors can watch fish and shellfish cookery, filleting demonstrations and go to various produce and craft stalls. Free children's activities are provided, such as craft workshops, pavement painting and a magician.
Milford Haven Port Authority support's the annual event with sponsorship and assistance with safe operation during the opening day.
Sunderland Trust (opens a new window)
The Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust is a project hosted by Milford Haven Port Authority. The world's fourth Sunderland (and the only surviving Mark I) lies on the seabed off Pembroke Dock. A Pegasus radial engine has already been raised from the site and is being conserved, along with other items. The vision of the Trust is to raise the Sunderland, bring it ashore and restore it and display it as a permanent tourist attraction related to the cultural history of the area.

Rising Tide (opens a new window)
Milford Haven Port Authority is host to a new European Interreg IV project called Rising Tide. This project is a development of the previous Celtic Maritime Connections project and included in its multi facets are; regeneration of coastal communities, building of a strong body for maritime heritage in Wales and Ireland, and training for people not in education, employment for training in marine skills. The project covers six counties on the West coast of Wales and East Coast of Ireland.
